Fire Relief Support Program
(Enrollment Open)

The Fire Relief Support Program focuses on helping individuals and communities affected by the Los Angeles and Ventura County wildfires. This program aims to address the emotional, psychological, and physical toll that fires can take on survivors, responders, and affected communities. The main goals are to provide mental health support, assist with the trauma recovery process, and help people regain a sense of stability.

Services Offered:

Trauma-Informed Counseling:

  • Five (5) free one-on-one sessions with licensed therapists trained in trauma recovery to offer urgent emotional support, teach coping strategies and build emotional resilience.

Adult and Teen Group Sessions:

  • Weekly adult support group for survivors to connect and share their experiences led by licensed counselors trained in trauma recovery. Support also for our at risk populations as elderly individuals, people with disabilities, and low-income families might require specific interventions due to unique vulnerabilities.
  • Specialized weekly teen program focusing on the emotional needs of young people, helping them process grief, anxiety, and trauma related to fire disasters.

Spiritual Counseling:

  • Three (3) free one-on-one sessions with a clergy staff member addressing the emotional, psychological, and spiritual impact that surviving a fire can have on individuals and communities. For many people, experiencing trauma or loss—such as the destruction of homes or the loss of loved ones—can create a profound sense of spiritual disorientation, grief, and longing for meaning. Spiritual counseling offers a way for individuals to process these emotions, rebuild their sense of self, and restore a sense of connection to their faith or spiritual beliefs.
